HOCKEY & HOCKEY CARDS

Modern hockey is believed to have evolved from outdoor stick-and-ball games adapted to the icy conditions of Canada during the 19th century. The first organized game of hockey was played March 3rd, 1875 in Montreal, Canada.

From 1910 to 1913 hockey cards were included in cigarette packages. Though printing was haulted during World War I it came to life again after the war. Though only one more cigarette package set was made many food companies picked up the printing of cards until the 1940's when it was picked up by O-Pee-Chee. Though printing stopped again in World War II it is still alive and strong to this day.

Though I would not want to count the number of cards made over the years

More Sport Memorbelia is excited to say that we have collected

10's of THOUSANDS OF HOCKEY CARDS.
